Cellist Sergio Serra undertook his BMus at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Richard Lester and his Masters at the RCM with Helene Dautry. Sergio has attended masterclasses at ISM Prussia Cove and performed at events including the Guildhall Artists Barbican concerts, the City of London Festival, Richmond Concert Society, Ryedale Festival and LSO Soundhub concert series to name a few. His current projects include the 12 ensemble with whom he has recorded recently and embarked on ventures that have taken him to Italy and Iceland amongst other places. The ensemble was recently featured on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune programme and has an Aldeburgh Artists Residence planned for March 2017. Sergio enjoys a varied performing platform including recording sessions (LCO, Orchestrate), outreach workshops and of course concerts. At present, he is focused on chamber music that regularly lends itself to interesting collaborations within art disciplines and new music which have been integral in his projects with both the Guastalla Quartet and the Phaedra Ensemble.
